We sustain our nature

Sustainability

Sustainability has always been part of Ferrari Trento’s DNA, it is its way of being, based on respect for people and nature, in a journey of continuous innovation aimed at delivering excellence in every bottle.

The challenge Ferrari has chosen to tackle focus on finding a harmonious balance between humans and nature: protecting the natural environment, fostering healthy human development, and ensuring soldi economic growth are the pillars on which to build the future.

Ferrari Trento confirms its commitment to promoting sustainable practices and policies and, as part of Lunelli Group, participates in the United Nations Global Compact, a network that brings together governments, business, United Nations agencies, trade unions and civil society organizations with the goal of fostering a sustainable global economy that respects human and labor rights, protects the environment and combats corruption.

THE MILESTONES OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

With this approach, Ferrari aims to make a concrete contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to responsible consumption and production, the promotion and protection of biodiversity, combating climate change, health and well-being, decent work and economic growth, gender equality, and sustainable water management.

We firmly believe that every company should not only create value for its shareholders but also generate well-being, safety, and beauty for its employees, stakeholders and the community, demonstrating social responsibility and care for the environment.

The Lunelli Family

GUARDIANS OF THE LAND

For years, the company has been committed to ensuring that the grapes harvested are of the highest quality while also respecting the environment, biodiversity, and ecosystems. To this end, all direct suppliers, and some indirect ones, are required to follow the healthy and sustainable mountain viticulture protocol called “Il Vigneto Ferrari”: certified by CSQA, it promotes agriculture focused on the natural fertility of the soil, enriching organic matter through the use of manure, working the land to make it more vital, and sowing cover crops in autumn to increase nectar sources for bees and other pollinating insects.

The commitment is recognized by the “Biodiversity Friend” certification, which the Group’s vineyards have held continuously since 2015, and by their support of the “Terra-Aria-Acqua” project of the Trento Biodistrict, with technical support from MUSE (Trento Science Museum)

Carbon Neutrality

For the fourth consecutive year, Ferrari Trento has achieved Carbon Neutrality certification for Scope 1, 2 and part of Scope 3 at the corporate level through the third-party organization Climate Partner, effectively reducing the company’s climate impact to zero.

This goal was reached thanks to a series of measures aimed at reducing emissions, including the installation of photovoltaic park on the winery roof, further expanded in 2024, and the purchase of electricity exclusively from renewable sources, combined with carbon offsetting through certified carbon credits.

Ferrari Trento’s emissions have been certified and offset by Climate Partner, an international company specializing in the assessment and solution of climate impact issues, according to Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, one of the most widely recognized international methods.

The certification refers to the reduction and offsetting of emissions resulting from the energy and fuels used by the company, defined as Scope 1 and 2, but also includes part of Scope 3, which covers the supply chain, as it encompasses business travel, commuting by employees as well as upstream emissions from company consumption.

Photovoltaic system

More renewable energy thanks to a new photovoltaic plant

A photovoltaic plant is scheduled to be installed on the roof of the headquarters in Ravina in the course of 2024, which will increase energy production and meet part of the company’s needs.

The initiative is co-financed by the European Union through the ERDF Programme 2021 – 2027 and is part of the sustainability path in which Ferrari Trento and Gruppo Lunelli have been committed for decades.

Cultivating talent

Ferrari Trento constantly works to improve the prevention and promotion of workers’ health and safety, ensure equal opportunities, fair compensation and work-family balance.

The company’s personnel management policy is based on respect for diversity and inclusion.

Job creation is aimed at providing a concrete and high-quality response to employment needs, particularly for young people and women, based solely on merit and competence.

The company promotes initiatives to enhance its employees, including the corporate volunteering project “Your Time for the Community”, a day of corporate volunteering that allows all employees to dedicate a working day to social activities at a local non-profit organization.

Ferrari Trento also carries out the Altagamma Foundation project “Adopt a School” through a partnership with the Trentino Hospitality Institute in Levico Terme, aiming to strengthen students’ training in the hospitality sector.

TOGETHER WITH THE COMMUNITY

The connection to the territory is a strong defining feature of Ferrari Trento, whose quality is closely linked to the land where its raw materials are cultivated. Recognizing it as the center of its corporate social responsibility is therefore a duty for Ferrari, which every year works to promote Trentino and its mountain viticulture.

Believing that, beyond respecting the territory, it is important to support the communities in which it operates, Ferrari Trento maintains a strong social commitment, supporting local associations that help the most vulnerable through donations, sponsorships, and product contributions, as well as international initiatives such as “Lar da Esperança Elda Lunelli” in Mozambique.

Among its various initiatives, Ferrari Trento has for several years supported “Ferrari per Samuele”, a social farming project promoted by Cooperativa Samuele: 2,000 personalized bottles donated by the Lunelli family to Cooperativa Samuele, which for years has supplied Ferrari with Chardonnay grapes grown in the vineyards of Trento’s high hills. It has also joined, through the project “Bollicine Solidali”, “Restaurants Against Hunger”, Italy’s largest solidarity campaign in the restaurant sector, involving over 200 restaurants across Italy in raising funds for programs to fight global hunger.

Ferrari Trento has also launched a collaboration with the platform Goodify: visitors to the Trento winery and customers of Enoteca Lunelli receive a voucher linked to a QR code, which allows them to access the online platform and choose the non-profit organization to which the company will donate €5.
